Dr. Andrea Fagiolini

Professor of Psychiatry, University of Siena School of Medicine, Italy

Dr. Andrea Fagiolini is currently Chairman of the Department of Mental Health and Sensory Organs, Chief of Medical Services of the Division of Psychiatry, and Residency Training Director at the University of Siena School of Medicine, Italy. Previously, Dr. Andrea Fagiolini spent more than 10 years on the faculty at the University of Pittsburgh Medical School, PA, USA, where he served as Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Medical Director of the Bipolar Disorder Centre and the Depression and Manic Depression Prevention Program.

 

Dr. Andrea Fagiolini’s research interests include the pharmacological treatment of mood, anxiety and psychotic disorders as well as treating and preventing physical comorbidity in patients with mental illness. He has published more than 400 books and peer-reviewed papers primarily focussing on the pharmacological treatment of psychiatric disorders. Dr. Andrea Fagiolinireceived his medical training from the University of Pisa School of Medicine and completed his psychiatric residency at the University of Modena, Italy.

Assistant Professor, Department of Psychiatry of Chiang Mai University, Thailand

Dr. Chawisa Suradom is a psychiatrist with extensive education, training, and research experience. She completed her Clinical Fellowship in Mood and Anxiety at the Department of Psychiatry, University of Toronto, Canada (July 2017 - June 2019). Dr. Chawisa Suradom holds a Specialty in Psychiatry from the Department of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University (April 2011 - July 2014) and obtained her Medical Degree (Second-class honors) from the same institution (May 2004 - March 2010).

 

Her professional journey includes roles as a Psychiatrist at Trans Wellness Clinic, Special Medical Center, Khon Kaen University (since 2021), an Assistant Professor at the Department of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University (since 2020), and a Psychiatrist at Srinagarind Hospital, Khon Kaen University (since 2014).

 

Dr. Chawisa Suradom has contributed to research on topics such as perinatal depression, anxiety disorders, and antipsychotic medications. She has presented her work at international conferences and received awards for her academic achievements. Additionally, she is actively involved in service and leadership roles in mental health education and care.

Dr. Josefina Ly-Uson

Dr. Josefina Ly-Uson is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of the Philippines College of Medicine.  She is the Vice Chair for Medical Education at the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine of the UP-Philippine General Hospital (PGH).  She is also the Chair of the Committee on Student Resiliency and Wellness at the UP College of Medicine and the adviser of the Wellness Program for Residents and Fellows at the PGH. She was the former head of the Section of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry at The Medical City where she currently holds her private practice as a Consultant Psychiatrist.

 

Dr. Josefina Ly-Uson has been a speaker in various local and international fora on topics which include Depression, Psychosocial Aspects of various Medical Conditions, Mental Health and Wellness.

Dr. Pratap Chokka

Clinical Professor of Psychiatry, University of Alberta, Consultant at Grey Nuns Hospital, Edmonton, Canada

Dr. Chokka graduated with a Doctor of Medicine Degree from the University of Alberta in 1990. He subsequently completed his specialist training in Psychiatry and obtained a Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 1995. He is currently a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Alberta and a Consultant Psychiatrist at the Grey Nuns Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. His main area of interest is in mood and anxiety disorders, reproductive psychiatry, ADHD and has been the principal investigator in over 60 clinical trials and published several papers in these areas.

Dr. Chokka is also a committee member for the establishment of the Anxiety Disorders Guidelines in Canada. In addition to research and clinical practice, he has a keen interest in medical education and is the preceptor for residents, interns, medical students and has been a supervisor for graduate students. He also was an examiner and served on the Royal College Examination Board of Canada in Psychiatry. Dr. Chokka has lectured nationally and internationally and presented his research at major conferences.

 

Dr. Chokka established the Chokka Center for Integrative Health which embraces an integrative and multidisciplinary team approach in the assessment and management of mental disorders by applying conventional medical treatments with complimentary and alternative therapies. The Chokka Center has also developed the Integrative Medical and Evaluation Treatment (IMET) program to improve assessment, reduce stigma and treat mental health disorders in the workplace.

Consultant Psychiatrist, Sunway Medical Center, Malaysia

Dr. Ting Joe Hang is a consultant psychiatrist who is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He previously tenured as a lecturer at University of Malaya until he set up his own private clinical practice. Besides his own private practice, he is also the visiting psychiatrist to two major tertiary private medical centres. Despite leaving academia, he still participated in clinical research, and engagements to speak at both national and international events. He is an active committe member for the Malaysian Psychiatry Association. He has also been invited to be a member serving on several Advisory Board offering expert opinions on psychiatric best practices.

Dr. Wan Izwin Wan Hassan

Consultant Psychiatrist, ParkCity Medical Center, Malaysia

Dr.  Wan Izwin graduated from University of Sheffield, UK. She received psychiatric training in the UK and worked for the national health service there for 15 years. She was a consultant for the Memory Service, Community and Home Crisis Intervention Team in Sheffield, UK before her return to Malaysia in 2020. She currently practices in Subang Jaya, Ara Damansara and Parkcity Medical Centre.

 

Dr Wan Izwin subspecialises in Geriatric Psychiatry and treats conditions such as Alzheimer’s dementia, as well as other various cognitive disorders. She also treats complications from dementia conditions, such as sleep, mood disorder, aggression and agitation.

 

She believes in delivering a holistic approach to mental health conditions, focusing on wellbeing, lifestyle changes and therapeutic approaches, as well as pharmacological interventions when indicated.
